We welcome our first-ever Mexico single-origin to our menu, Ohuapan from Veracruz! If we’re counting miles, this is the closest coffee grown to our backyard. There are three main growing regions in Mexico: Chiapas located just north of Guatemala's border, then Oaxaca, and finally Veracruz on the Gulf coast. These three regions each have their own strengths. Veracruz’s strength is higher yields and larger average farm sizes. And, instead of processing their coffee on their own farms, farmers are much more accustomed to trading in cherries for central processing in larger volumes at the wet mill, a collaborative effort to elevate the entire community. This is the case for Ohuapan, a group lot processed centrally together.

If you have enjoyed our Guatemala-washed coffees or even our Peru-washed coffees in the past, then you will not be disappointed by Ohuapan, Mexico, a light roast without the fruity and acidic flavor profile. Instead, you will find a buttery cup full of cinnamon, almond, and dark chocolate notes, coupled with soft red apple acidity.
